Soleil Ltd. (株式会社ソレイユ) is a Japanese video game developer based in Tokyo. Founded in 2008 by former Team Ninja staff who followed Tomonobu Itagaki after his departure from Tecmo,[1][2] the studio became part of Wake Up Interactive in 2017 and was acquired by Chinese multinational technology conglomerate Tencent in November 2021 for approximately US$44 million.[3][4]

In December 2021, Soleil merged with sister studio Valhalla Game Studios, absorbing its staff and ongoing projects under a single brand.[5][6][7]

The studio specialises in action games; many staff members previously worked on the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series at Team Ninja. Notable titles include Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker (2018), Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time (2020), Valkyrie Elysium (2022), and Wanted: Dead (2023).[8][9] After absorbing Valhalla Game Studios in December 2021, Soleil worked on multiple projects including Valkyrie Elysium and Wanted: Dead."[10][11][12][13]
