Submission declined on 10 June 2025 by Bonadea (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.

Comment: Possibly notable, but any claims to notability are buried beneath a lot of promotional hype. bonadea contributions talk 09:30, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
Silvio Laccetti, PhD, is a retired professor of humanities. Laccetti, a graduate of Columbia College and Columbia Graduate Faculties, was also the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to Italy[1] . He spent four decades (1967-2008) teaching urban history and social science at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Early in his career, Laccetti was one of the first to use work-study students in community service outreach programs. He was the first recipient of a New Jersey State Planning Association grant for Drug Abuse Education. In 1970, he created a national model Drug Abuse Education Program. Subsequent programs utilized teaching modalities which Laccetti and his students developed. A major focus of the program was in using college students to educate parents about the growing US drug culture. With his student, Joel Richard, he co-authored "History, Culture, and Drugs". During this time, Laccetti was called in as an advisor to the Student League Against Narcotic Temptation (SLANT). [2]
As his teaching career progressed, Laccetti was selected for the New Jersey Master Faculty Program, the New Jersey Institute for Collegiate Teaching & Learning, and as a Teaching Associate in the Danforth Foundation [3]. In 1993, he was the winner of the Stevens Alumni Association Outstanding Teacher Award [4].
From 1994 to 2001 Laccetti was asked by his school to help revive the urban-based embroidery industry of North Jersey - once the leader in the field but now hobbled by relocations in the US South and by foreign competition. His plans involved high profile media coverage of the industry and lobbying to achieve $4 million in grants and other aid from the State of NJ[5].
Grants were used to modernize and computerize the manufacturing sector. The effort resulted in an internationally cited paper by the Professor, "The New Jersey Embroidery Industry and Problems of Local Manufacturing in the Global Economy". [6]
During and after his teaching career, Dr. Laccetti brought some 200 editorials to a national reading public across the US. He was syndicated in turn by Knight Ridder, McClatchy, and Tribune News Services [7] [8].
Upon his retirement from teaching in 2008, Prof. Laccetti established his eponymous foundation, which focused on areas of his personal educational interests. Chief among these was the encouragement of Italian language and cultural studies. The foundation has made awards to high school students who achieved excellence in these areas. Through the foundation, Laccetti created WorldCast, a global seminar for high school students who researched significant environmental problems in their local areas. WorldCast produced video presentations on the issues which were then broadcast globally on YouTube. Programs aired in 2020, 2021, 2022[9], 2023[10] and 2025[11].
