Samannito Sangskritik Sangsad (Bengali: সমন্বিত সাংস্কৃতিক সংসদ, lit. 'Integrated Cultural Council') (SOSAS)[a] is the cultural wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, It was established in 1994.[6][7]
History
[edit]In 1994, Samannito Sangskritik Sangsad was established and since then, it has been involved in cultural activities.[8][6][7]
In August 2024, the Awami League-led regime banned affiliates of Jamaat-e-Islami including Samannito Sangskritik Sangsad following protests by students and political organizations, the Bangladeshi interim government led by Muhammad Yunus eventually unbanned all affiliates of Jamaat-e-Islami.[7][9]
Activities
[edit]Samannito Sangskritik Sangsad has been involved in cultural activities including making songs, involvement in acting, involvement in recitation, short films, calligraphy and frequent competitions.[b]
