Sadrolin (Sadri) Tam is a Sweden-based documentary filmmaker, screenwriter and producer. Active since the late 1980s, he has directed and produced documentaries on human rights, social issues and cultural heritage. He is best known for Wieliczka – The Salt of the Earth (2006), a documentary about the UNESCO-listed Wieliczka Salt Mine in Poland, and for the ongoing international docudrama project Saga of Salt. His work has been noted in Swedish and Polish media, including Sydsvenskan, Kvällsposten and Dziennik Polski.[1][2][3]
Career
[edit]Tam has worked in film and media since the late 1980s, directing and producing documentaries on culture, heritage and social issues in Sweden and internationally.[4]
Internationally he is associated with Wieliczka – The Salt of the Earth. A later version (2024) features Polish actor Jerzy Stuhr as narrator.[5] The film was covered by Dziennik Polski, quoting Stuhr that “the mine itself is the protagonist.”[6] The Wieliczka Salt Mine’s own knowledge portal has also highlighted the film.[7] The film is also listed in the Polish film database Filmweb.[8] Independent reviews and references have been compiled on the project’s official website.[9] The film has also been referenced in Polish academic and cultural publications.[10]
