SNA Saigon South is an international school located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The school operates under the International Schools of North America (SNA) system, part of Nguyen Hoang Group (NHG), and provides English-medium education from Kindergarten to Grade 12. SNA Saigon South is authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) to deliver all three IB programmes: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP).[1]
History
[edit]SNA Saigon South was established in 2005 as part of the SNA system under the Nguyen Hoang Group, one of Vietnam’s largest private education groups.[2] Over the years, the school has expanded both in size and in academic offerings. In 2020, SNA officially joined the global network of IB World Schools after receiving authorization for all IB programmes.[3] In 2022, Vietnam’s Minister of Education and Training, Nguyễn Kim Sơn, visited the campus to recognize SNA’s contribution to international education in Vietnam.[4]
Campus and facilities
[edit]The SNA Saigon South campus, located in Him Lam residential area, features modern academic and extracurricular facilities. According to the school’s website, SNA provides science laboratories, art and music studios, a swimming pool, gymnasium, and multipurpose sports halls to support a holistic education approach.[5] The campus is designed to align with IB pedagogical standards, offering spaces for inquiry-based learning, collaboration, and innovation.
Curriculum
[edit]SNA Saigon South offers a fully IB-aligned curriculum. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) nurtures foundational inquiry and exploration, while the Middle Years Programme (MYP) encourages interdisciplinary learning. Students in Grades 11 and 12 pursue the Diploma Programme (DP), which prepares them for higher education worldwide.[1] English is the main medium of instruction, while Vietnamese language and culture are integrated into the curriculum to maintain national identity.
