Raktabeej 2 (transl. Seeds of Blood 2) is an upcoming Indian Bengali-language political action thriller film directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, and written by Zinia Sen. The film is sequel to the 2023 film Raktabeej and stars Victor Banerjee, Abir Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty, Ankush Hazra and Koushani Mukherjee in the lead roles. This film is produced and distributed by Windows and presented by Sanjay Agarwal.[1][2]
Filming began on 11th March, 2025.[3] An announcement teaser, with glimpses from the film, was released on 23rd July, 2025.[4][5][6][7][8] The film is set to release in September 2025, on the occasion of Durga Puja.[9][10][11]

Production
[edit]The film is directed by the acclaimed duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee under the banner of Windows Production House. Cinematography is by Pratip Mukhopadhyay and editing by Malay Laha. The production design is by Ananda Addhya, while costume design is handled by Abhisek Roy. Rajat Shubhra Chakraborty is in charge of visual effects.[14]
The film was officially announced on 26 January 2025 (Republic Day).[15] It is scheduled for release during Durga Puja 2025.[16]
Reception
[edit]The film has generated significant buzz in the Bengali media following its announcement. Leading publications such as *Anandabazar Patrika*, *ABP Ananda*, *Sangbad Pratidin*, and *The Times of India* covered the news extensively, reflecting public anticipation.
However, since the film is yet to be released, full critical reviews are not available at this time. As release approaches, reviews from notable film critics and major publications are expected to contribute to the film’s critical reception.
