Rajarshi Lahiri is an Indian politician and media panelist associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Indian state of West Bengal. Known for his vocal political stances and active presence in media debates, he represents the BJP's views across television and digital platforms. Early life and education
[edit]Rajarshi Lahiri was born in Kolkata, West Bengal. He completed his undergraduate studies at Jadavpur University and later earned an MBA from IIM Lucknow. Before entering politics, he worked as a business analyst in the private sector.
Political career
[edit]Lahiri is one of the official media spokespersons of the BJP West Bengal unit. As a media panelist, he participates in televised debates and public discussions to represent the party’s policies and responses to current issues.
In July 2023, Lahiri filed a complaint with the Kolkata Police against Abhishek Banerjee, a Trinamool Congress MP, for allegedly making inflammatory remarks that encouraged the unlawful confinement of BJP workers during a political agitation.[1]
Ideological beliefs
[edit]Rajarshi Lahiri publicly identifies himself as a practicing Hindu and a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) swayamsevak. His political commentary often emphasizes nationalism, Hindu cultural values, and economic development.
