Radio Mike (Mike Liberale) is a podcast and radio show producer from Melbourne, Australia. He is one of the premier producers in Australia, currently producing the Swag on the Beat podcast with Jack and Isaac, as well as hosting his own podcast called Harry Potter and the Boys, where each episode he reads a chapter from his Harry Potter fan fiction he wrote when he was 7. He also worked on one of Australia's biggest radio shows and podcasts, the Hamish & Andy show for 7 years, as well as the Wilosophy podcast with Wil Anderson, the Luke and Lewis show and The Contrarians podcast.[1] [2]
Early Life
[edit]Liberale attended St Kevin's College, Melbourne where he was on a music scholarship, impressing classmates with his angelic voice, extensive Pokemon knowledge and exemplary marks in year 12.
Podcast and Radio Producer
[edit]Hamish & Andy show
[edit]Radio Mike made frequent appearances on the Hamish & Andy show while working there, becoming a beloved character. He was responsible for finding 3 related things to present to Andy at the start of each show, which often took him the whole week to come up with.[3]
Swag on the Beat
[edit]Liberale also features heavily in every episode of the Swag on the Beat podcast. His musical skills and general knowledge are often praised by the hosts, even creating the show's introduction music and transition jingles.[4]
He has recently taken on a new intern named Laosy (Ben Lawson), who is at university and seeking to gain real life experience in the producing space. Since Laosy has come on board, Liberale has exhibited a notable decrease in work ethic, enthusiasm and attention, often blaming this on his new underling and scolding him unfairly. Liberale even tried to remove any traces of Laosy from the satellite that will soon be launched into space in the podcast's honour, going so far as to say 'Laosy can get absolutely stuffed, that little gronk doesn't know shit about podcasting, I am the best producer in the country, he is just a dumb kid. Take his name off and make it my initials bitch'.[5]
The Feud
[edit]Liberale has not officially commented on the real and at times feisty feud between the show he currently works on and the previous one, which arose due to his move to the new show. The previous show claimed that Mike was not moving onto 'bigger and better things' but rather 'other things', a clear insult and act of war to the new show. Luckily and admirably, the hosts of the new show were prepared to push this aside and bury the hatchet between the two shows, expressing this on their podcast. The deafening silence by the previous show was an obvious sign of bitter hostility, keeping the feud alive once more. To the credit of the new show, the hosts remained earnest and compassionate, ultimately extinguishing the feud, though no one knows if or when it will be reignited.[6]
Plans For The Future
[edit]Liberale has spoken openly about his goals for the future, after recently purchasing a house with his partner Clare, he soon wishes to birth many offspring and create a small army of podcasting minions, where he can overpower and exterminate all other podcasts in Australia. He will then be crowned King Radio Mike, Lord of Audio and God of the Rodecaster, where he will enslave Laosy and make him fetch grapes and spit buckets for him and all his offspring.[7]
Four Square Tournament
[edit]Liberale is hosting a Four Square tournament at his new house on December 13, which many are calling the 'sporting event of the decade'.
