Phoebe Grace Olukemi (born February 2, 2000) commonly known as Phoebe Kemi is a Nigerian-American model.
Early life and education
[edit]Kemi was born on 2nd February 2000 in Durham, North Carolina to a polar opposite parents. A Nigerian father from Kabba in Kogi State, and an Italian and German mother. She had her nursery and primary education at St. Gregory the Great and Nova High School, and later proceeded to the Parsons School of Design in New York City where she majored in Strategic Design and Management.[1]
Career
[edit]Phoebe Kemi began her career in New York City at the age of 20 while still schooling at Parsons School of Design, debuting at The 2020 New York Fashion Week.[2] Since then she has walked for multiple fashion weeks across Europe including London Fashion Week, Custo Barcelona, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Milan Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, where she showcased collections of Alexander Wang, Michael Cinco, Anthony Rubio amongst others.[3] She has also walked for notable fashion magazines including Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Forbes Central America, Grazia amongst others.[4][5]
In 2021, Daily Independent in Nigeria profiled her as one of the New Waves Transforming Fashion’s Horizon alongside other young models including Kaia Gerber, Lily-Rose Depp, Meghan Roche, Asher Angel, Lucky Blue Smith and Christian Convery amongst others.[6]In 2023, she was profiled by Harper’s Bazaar in Vietnam as A Fashion Trailblazer With A Global Vision. The following year she was named a cover of Grazia Magazine in the Philippines, Southeastern Asia.[7]
