Junior career

In March 2024, Bonding became the first British junior player since 2010 to win a J500 singles title when he won the Banana Bowl in Brazil.[2][3] In April 2024, he won the British U18 title.[4] In August 2024, he reached the final of the doubles tournament at the event, alongside compatriot Charlie Robertson at the J300 College Park tournament.[5]

Alongside American Jagger Leach he reached the semi-final of the 2025 Australian Open boys' doubles with the pair also later playing together at the 2025 French Open.[6] In April 2025, he retained his title at the British Junior National Championships with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Benjamin Gusic Wan.[7] Alongside Leach, he reached the final of the Boys' doubles at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships with a semi-final win over Dutch pair Mees Rottgering and Hidde Schoenmakers, before facing Alan Ważny and Oskari Paldanius in the final where they won the first set and had championship points in the second set but ultimately lost on a match tiebreak.[8]

Senior career

[edit]

In June 2024, he was awarded a wildcard into qualifying for the singles of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.[9] In February 2025, he won his first tournament on the ITF Men's World Tennis Tour, winning at the M15 Lannion.[10] In June 2025, he was awarded a wildcard into gentleman's singles qualifying event at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, and in the first round recorded a three-set win over Viktor Durasovic of Norway.[11] In the second round he defeated 7-5 6-4 by Argentine Juan Pablo Ficovich.[12]
