Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Slipchenko (born 1954, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian martial arts coach, Honored Coach of Ukraine, Merited Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine, and president of the All-Ukrainian Martial Arts Association "Combat Self-Defense ICO".
Biography
[edit]Slipchenko began his coaching career in 1977. He specializes in combat sports, particularly kickboxing, Muay Thai, and since 2015 — in the discipline of Combat Self-Defense ICO.
Among his students are six Honored Masters of Sports, twenty-three Masters of Sports of International Class, and thirty-five Masters of Sports of Ukraine — including world and European champions such as:
- Dmytro Konstantynov — kickboxing (2007, 2010, 2014, 2015);
- Viktor Zakharov — Combat Self-Defense ICO (2018);
- Mykhailo Dyukarev — Combat Self-Defense ICO (2007), kickboxing (2025);
- Dmytro Denysenko — kickboxing.
Slipchenko’s coaching school has branches in the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, Spain, Laos, and Vietnam.
Public activity
[edit]In 2015, Oleksandr Slipchenko, together with Mykola Zentsev, founded and began developing the All-Ukrainian Martial Arts Association "Combat Self-Defense ICO" (combat-ico
In 2017, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine officially recognized and began cultivating this discipline as a separate non-Olympic sport. Since 2021, the All-Ukrainian Association "Combat Self-Defense ICO" has held the status of the National Federation of Martial Arts of Ukraine.

[edit]Under Slipchenko’s leadership, the Ukrainian national team has participated in international Combat Self-Defense ICO championships since 2017:
