History
[edit]Foundation and early years (1928-1950s)
[edit]Micro-Mark was founded in 1928 by John Frisoli, a 16-year-old entrepreneur inspired by Charles Lindbergh's 1927 transatlantic flight.[1][3] Initially established as Scientific Model Airplane Company in Newark, New Jersey, the business produced model airplane kits and supplies.
During its early decades, the company expanded its product offerings to include model ships, dollhouse supplies, and other scale modeling materials.

Modern era (1990s-present)
[edit]The company remains under third-generation family ownership. In 2016, Chas Fox joined the company as CEO.[4]
The company has expanded into 3D printing supplies, laser cutting equipment, and contemporary maker tools while continuing to produce traditional precision hand tools and model supplies.[1] Recent acquisitions include the Laser-Art brand for model railroad structures.[5]
Operations
[edit]Micro-Mark manufactures precision tools and supplies for scale modeling, model railroading, dollhouse construction, and modern maker applications. The company produces both traditional hand tools and power tools under the Micro-Mark brand, as well as proprietary product lines including Micro-Make power tools.[1]
The company operates through catalog sales, e-commerce, and direct sales.[1]
Leadership
