Md. Rizwanul Islam is a Bangladeshi legal academic. He serves as a Professor at the Department of Law and the Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at North South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is noted for his works in international law, trade law, and the Bangladeshi legal system. In addition to his academic works, Rizwanul also writes columns in national and international newspapers, and is also a writer of fiction, including short stories.

Education and career

Rizwanul holds an LL.B. from the University of Dhaka, an LL.M. from the National University of Singapore, and a Ph.D. from Macquarie University, Australia.

Rizwanul started his academic career at Northern University Bangladesh, later held multiple roles at Macquarie University and BRAC University before joining North South University.

In March 2021, Rizwanul was elected Co-Chair of the Teaching International Law Interest Group of the American Society of International Law for a three-year term. [1] [2]
