Maziar Karim (Template:Lang-fa; born 1982) is an Iranian poet, philosopher, translator, and literary theorist. Despite a formal education in Information Technology, his work spans interdisciplinary research in philosophy, psychology, mythology, and literary theory. He is best known for his development of the literary theory "Stranged Writing" (نوشتار شگفت) and for his minimalist poetry published in numerous international English-language journals.[3][4]

Biography

[edit]

Maziar Karim was born in Tehran, Iran. He holds a Master of Science degree in Information Technology. His academic background in a technical field contrasts with his professional focus on the humanities, where he conducts interdisciplinary research.[2]

Work and Theoretical Contributions

[edit]

Karim's work is divided between literary creation (poetry and short stories) and theoretical research. His theoretical approach often explores the intersections of philosophy, psychology, and literature.

Stranged Writing (نوشتار شگفت)

[edit]

His most significant theoretical contribution is the concept of "Stranged Writing" (Neveshtār-e Shegeft), a literary taxonomy that seeks to categorize and analyze narrative forms based on their structure and effect rather than traditional genres. This theory was presented in his book of the same name, published by BlazeVOX in 2023.[4][3]

Literary Style

[edit]

As a poet, Karim works primarily in minimal forms, including quatrains (رباعی), couplets (دوبیتی), short stories, and free-form minimalist poetry. His work is characterized by philosophical contemplation and precision of language.[2]
