Submission declined on 20 August 2025 by Qcne (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of events). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic |

Mare Fair (abbreviated as MF) is an annual convention for adult fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The convention is held in Orlando, Florida. The convention made its debut in 2023, and was founded by the users of 4chan's /mlp/.
The next Mare Fair is set to take place 5-7, September 2025 at the Rosen Centre.[1][2]
Overview
[edit]Mare Fair is a convention for fans of the animated television show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The major deviation from the typical pony convention is the strict exclusion of those under the age of 18.[3]
In contrast to other pony conventions, Mare Fair does not formally invite community guests, nor guest of honors. The convention is ran by the community, for the community[3]. The convention has incorporated many well-received unofficial events alongside its own programming. Notables examples include the Cinemare Night, a screening of the 2017 My Little Pony: The Movie[4][5], and the Cosplay Contest; both were introduced during 2024 and organized by the attendees.
The locations and dates have varied over the years. In 2023, it was held in a now defunct Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive[6]. Mare Fair planned to keep their convention space for 2024, but the venue abruptly was demolished, prompting the organizers to look for another convention space. Marriott Orlando Airport Lakeside was chosen to be the last-minute venue for 2024[7]. Due to the bad reception towards the venue, Mare Fair chose to not renew the contract with Marriott, and instead went with Rosen Centre for 2025[1].
Like other brony conventions, Mare Fair involves itself with charitable causes[8][9]. Mare Fair charities are focused on equine well-beings.
A peculiar note was Mare Fair always sold out their highest tiers sponsor badges within the first day of its availability[10]. The occurrence of 2025 was well-documented, with the website suffocated the moment the badges went available due to the elevated traffics.[11]

Mare Fair is known for many flamboyant gestures. One notable event was the adoption of a road in front of Hasbro HQ at Pawtucket, Rhode Island[12][13]. Another less notable event was playing an advertisement at the Time Square[14].
History
[edit]
Mare Fair was founded mostly by the users of the 4chan board /mlp/. It emerges in reaction to the shift within the broader fandom, mostly with the furry fandom, and the needs of having an apolitical convention for adult fans of My Little Pony[15].
The planning for the convention commenced as far back as 2022[8] as a reaction to Trotcon's 2022 performance[16]. Initial funding for the convention was done via an art pack[10]. Further funding were levied by the successful first-year badge sales[10].
As a project that originated from 4chan, Mare Fair communications are made via dedicated and official threads on 4chan's /mlp/ board. Public announcements are later shared in a more polished form via social media, or the convention's website. Many events and decisions are directly influenced by the /mlp/ community.
Venue, attendance count, charity beneficiary
[edit]The main beneficiary of Mare Fair Charity was Fallen Oak Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation, Inc. In 2024, the charity was planned to have more than one beneficiary, but the other party(s) rescinded from participation, making Fallen Oaks the sole beneficiary. In 2025, Fallen Oaks becomes the de-facto charity partner, helping with organizing and distributing charity funds.
