Maple Community Services NDIS Provider
[edit]Maple Community Services is an Australian disability support organisation founded in 2018 and providing services to people with disability, their families, and carers across Australia.[1] The organisation delivers supports under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and works with individuals across a range of needs, including complex and high-support requirements.[2]
History
[edit]Maple Community Services was founded in 2018, by siblings Abdul Razac and Samira Razac who began their careers as disability support workers while undertaking their studies.[3] Through their own frontline experience, they identified gaps in service quality, workforce consistency, and participant experience within the disability sector.[4] These experiences informed the establishment of Maple Community Services, with a focus on improving standards of care through person-centred, inclusive, and culturally responsive support.
From its inception, the organisation prioritised equal access to disability services for people from diverse backgrounds and emphasised the delivery of supports by trained professionals focused on dignity, trust, and long-term outcomes.[5]
Leadership and Governance
[edit]Abdul Razac and Samira Razac continue to serve as key directors of Maple Community Services, providing strategic leadership and oversight.
Operational leadership is led by Chief Executive Officer Irshad Mulla, who oversees the organisation’s executive and operational functions. Irshad began his career as a disability support worker and progressed through leadership roles within the sector. His experience in frontline service delivery informs the organisation’s operational focus on quality, workforce development, and participant outcomes.
Awards and Recognition
[edit]Abdul Razac and Samira Razac have received multiple industry recognitions for their leadership and contribution to the disability and community services sector.
- In 2021, they were jointly awarded Sydney Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the Specialist Services category by Business News Australia, marking the second consecutive year they were recognised within their category.[6]
- In 2022, they received the Health & Medicine Award at the Sydney Young Entrepreneur Awards, recognising their work through Maple Community Services in specialist disability and community support.[7]
- In 2023 & 2024, they received the Health & Medicine Award at the Sydney Young Entrepreneur Awards, recognising their work through Maple Community Services in specialist disability and community support.[8]
Services and Workforce
[edit]Maple Community Services delivers a range of disability support services under the NDIS, including in-home support, community participation, and supports for individuals with complex needs. The organisation operates one of the largest and most highly trained support worker networks in the sector, comprising thousands of support workers and practitioners.[9] With over 80% of their workforce comprising Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds there are 40+ languages spoken collectively and a deep understanding of diverse lifestyles, traditions and cultures.
The organisation places strong emphasis on workforce training, professional development, and compliance to ensure participants receive consistent, safe, and high-quality care.[10]
Locations
[edit]Maple Community Services supports NDIS participants across all Australian states and territories, delivering services in metropolitan, regional, and rural communities nationwide. The organisation operates through a distributed service model supported by offices, regional hubs, and local delivery teams.
Key offices and service hubs are located in major population centres, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth[11], Canberra, and the Gold Coast, with a strong service presence across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory.
Within New South Wales, Maple Community Services has an established footprint across both metropolitan and regional areas, including Sydney, Blacktown[12], Penrith, Campbelltown, Camden, Orange, Dubbo, and Mudgee, supporting participants across urban, outer-metropolitan, and regional communities.
Services are delivered through a combination of local teams and community-based support workers, enabling flexible, regionally responsive care and continuity of support regardless of location.
Role in the Disability Sector
[edit]Through its leadership, workforce development, partnerships, and scholarship initiatives, Maple Community Services positions itself as both an NDIS service provider and an active contributor to sector development and social inclusion across Australia. Through established partnerships with national and state sporting organisations, Maple promotes inclusion, health, and community participation for people with disability.[13] The organisation is recognised as a Community Health and Wellbeing Partner of Athletics NSW, the governing body for athletics in New South Wales.[14] Through this collaboration, Maple Community Services and Athletics NSW work to support inclusive participation in athletics by fostering opportunities for people of all abilities to engage in sport, with a focus on youth development, wellbeing, and accessibility.
Maple Community Services has also partnered with the Australian Football League (AFL) and AFL Women’s (AFLW) competitions in an initiative aimed at increasing accessibility and inclusion within Australian Rules Football.[15] The collaboration supports disability awareness and participation initiatives, contributing to broader efforts to improve inclusion within professional and community sport settings.[16]
