Manuel Faleschini (born 13 July 1978 in Dolo, Veneto)[citation needed] is an Italian entrepreneur. He is known as the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Waycap S.p.A., based in Mirano, a company that designs and manufactures headwear for Italian and international fashion brands.[1]

Biography

[edit]

Faleschini was born in Dolo, a town in the province of Venice, on 13 July 1978. As a teenager, he developed an interest in fashion, customizing and reselling baseball caps purchased from local markets, an experience that marked his first entrepreneurial venture.[2][3]

In 2002, he founded General Accessories, a company producing headwear and accessories for Italian fashion brands. In 2015, he established Waycap S.p.A., headquartered in Mirano, combining design and production for the fashion sector. In 2018, he opened the Waycap Factory, a production facility dedicated to high-end manufacturing, and in 2019 the company partnered with the private equity fund Wise Equity to support international expansion.[2]

Career

[edit]

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Faleschini directed a temporary conversion of Waycap’s production facilities to manufacture certified protective masks, collaborating with other regional companies.[4][5]

Starting in 2020, he began investing in real estate projects and the redevelopment of spaces connected to fashion and design. That same year, he acquired the historic Spazio Krizia building in Milan, formerly owned by the fashion house Krizia, founded by designer Mariuccia Mandelli. The site, known in the 1980s and 1990s for hosting fashion shows and design exhibitions, was redeveloped for creative and cultural use.[6]

In 2022, Faleschini acquired the Rosapetra Spa Resort in Cortina d’Ampezzo, as part of a renovation project ahead of the 2026 Milan–Cortina Winter Olympics.[7][8]

Since 2023, Faleschini has oriented his entrepreneurial activity toward sustainable business models, promoting environmental initiatives within Waycap’s Mirano factory. Among these is the creation of an urban green area with over 2,500 trees aimed at offsetting carbon emissions and improving local biodiversity. The facility was renovated to meet energy class A standards, featuring water recovery systems and solar panels for renewable energy production.[9][10]

In 2024–2025, Faleschini was reported to have acquired Palazzo Acerbi in Milan, initiating a redevelopment project associated with fashion and design industries.[11][12]

Personal life

[edit]

Faleschini has two sons, Leonardo and Edoardo, born in 2002 and 2003.[citation needed]
