The Mabudu-Tembe Kingdom was an influential 18th-19th century branch of the wider Tembe Kingdom in the Maputaland region of present-day northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and southern Mozambique. It emerged as a distinct political formation under the leadership of King Mabudu Tembe, who reigned from 1764 to 1782 and established one of the most powerful coastal polities in southeast Africa.
