Kwame Beatz (born Freedom Kwame Agyemang; 7 June 2003), also known by his producer tag "Heat", is a Ghanaian multi-instrumentalist, music producer, and sound engineer. He is celebrated for his genre-spanning versatility and impactful production style.
Early life and education
[edit]Born into a family of preachers in Tema–Accra, Ghana, Kwame Beatz began playing drums during church services in elementary school and participated actively in the choir—experiences that laid the foundation for his musical journey. He officially began producing music in 2021 while in university.
Career
[edit]In 2023, Kwame took part in the Sttart Project, a music camp organised by the NGO OSDA, producing the collaborative track We Are All in This Together. He also contributed to the Madan (Amapiano Remix) by Malian singer Salif Keita.
One of his most notable works is the single "Tornado", in collaboration with Ghanaian artist Dayonthetrack. The song, opening with his instantly recognisable producer tag "Heat", was featured on Ghana-Plug, praised as a fiery, high-energy release[2], and spotlighted by Ghana Music Channel’s daily roundup of notable releases[3]

Instruments and personal interests
[edit]Kwame is adept at drums, piano/keyboard, bass, and percussion instruments. He enjoys playing football, basketball, watching movies, and, most importantly, producing beats. His production style often blends live instrumentation with digital arrangements, allowing him to create genre-fluid compositions that range from Afrobeats and Amapiano to Hip hop and R&B. He has been known to incorporate traditional African percussion elements into his productions, reflecting his cultural heritage while maintaining modern, radio-ready soundscapes.
Personal life
[edit]Kwame Beatz was born into a Christian household in Tema, Ghana, to parents who are both preachers. Growing up in a faith-based environment played a key role in shaping his discipline, values, and early exposure to music. He has two siblings, Adalia Yaa Agyemang and Justice Kofi Agyemang. Outside of his music career, Kwame is an avid sports enthusiast, playing football, basketball, and other competitive games, which he credits for enhancing his teamwork and focus. He also enjoys watching films for creative inspiration and experimenting with new sounds on various instruments. Proud of his Ghanaian heritage, Kwame incorporates cultural influences into his work and occasionally participates in community music initiatives. He has established professional relationships with numerous Ghanaian artists—including E.L, Twitch4eva, Quamina MP, Kwesi Arthur, Feli Nuna, Dayonthetrack , Ghetto Boy, Soundz and Olivetheboy—and is involved in collaborative projects expected to be released in the near future.
