![]() International online karaoke competition |
The Kantvision Karaoke Contest (often abbreviated as KVKC) is an international online karaoke competition held primarily on Instagram under the handle @kantvisionkaraokecontest.
The contest is inspired by song festivals such as the Eurovision Song Contest, but focuses on karaoke performances submitted by contestants around the world.
Format
[edit]Unlike a traditional song contest, the Kantvision Karaoke Contest is a karaoke competition open to all songs, not just Eurovision entries. Two semi finals are held, where the best contestants qualify from it into the grand final. However, a wildcard round may save one of the nonqualifiers and give them a ticket into the grand final. In ED 1, the number of qualifiers were 9 from each semi, +2 wildcard entries. There were no auto Qualifiers in the first edition. The top 4 highest scoring countries got to be the auto qualifiers for the 2nd edition, where the winning country from the previous edition got handed to opportunity to host the next edition. The grand final of the 2nd edition featured the auto qualifiers and the top 10 entries in teach semi final + 1 wildcard.
Country Representation
[edit]While singers represent specific countries, they are not required to choose songs from that country.
Performance Rules
[edit]- Contestants must perform over an instrumental track.
- No auto-tuning or pitch correction is allowed on vocals.
