Kalahari Resorts and Conventions Wisconsin Dells is a water park, resort hotel, and convention center located in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Named for the Kalahari Desert in southern Africa, the resort is the first hotel for the Kalahari Resorts chain. The resort opened in May 2000 and it currently has 756 guest rooms, making it one of the largest resorts in the state of Wisconsin by guest rooms. The convention center opened in 2002 and was expanded from 100,000-square-foot (9,300 m2) to 230,000-square-foot (21,000 m2) in 2011.[1] In 2019, the convention center was expanded to feature 112,000-square-foot (10,400 m2) of exhibit space, a 52,000-square-foot (4,800 m2) ballroom and 10 additional meeting rooms.[2]
The indoor water park at the resort is considered to be one of the largest in Wisconsin, taking up a total of 125,000 square feet (11,600 m2). It was also one of the largest indoor water parks in the United States from its opening in 2000 to 2007 which includes the first indoor uphill water coaster in the world, named the Master Blaster, and the first indoor FlowRider surfing simulator in the world. The expansion in 2011 saw the debut of the first Super Loop slides in the country.[3] The resort also features a 77,000-square-foot (7,200 m2) outdoor waterpark with several more water slides, a lazy river, and a three-story interactive play structure.[1]
On January 9, 2025, Kalahari Resorts announced that they would be constructing a brand new $85 million water park expansion set to open in 2026. The expansion will add 75,000 square feet (7,000 m2) to the indoor waterpark along with a retractable roof along with three new slides. Two raft slides called Wild Wildebeest and Green Python and a four-lane racing slide called Cheetah Mat Racers.[4]
