Justus Izuchukwu Onuh (born 19 January 1992) is a Nigerian author, philosopher, educator, and full-stack developer. He is known for his literary works, philosophical writings, and academic contributions in African studies. He has taught in Nigeria and Vietnam and authored several books on culture, youth development, and African philosophy.
Early life and education
[edit]Onuh was born in Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria, and hails from Igogoro in Enugu-Ezike. He attended St. James Primary School and St. John Cross Seminary, Nsukka. He studied philosophy at Bigard Memorial Seminary, Enugu (2015–2019), affiliated with the Pontifical Urban University in Rome, where he earned a B.Phil. and diploma in Latin.[1] He later received a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Ibadan.
In 2024, he obtained TESOL certification from TEFL International Vietnam[2] and began teaching English in Ho Chi Minh City, where he is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Computer Science at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.[3]
Career
[edit]Teaching and public engagement
[edit]Onuh taught philosophy and religion at St. John Cross Seminary and St. Theresa’s School in Nigeria.[4] He has given public lectures at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka on youth development, including "Youth and Sexuality" (2015) and "Creativity First" (2018).[4]
In Vietnam, he taught English at Saigon Tourism Vocational College and Little People Kindergarten.[5] He is also the co-founder of Creative Teens Initiative, an organization promoting youth creativity and personal development.
Literary work
[edit]Onuh writes fiction, essays, and philosophy. His first major publication, Across the Perfect Hearts (2020), explores love and self-discovery through the lens of the Nigerian NYSC experience.[6] His Amazon author profile lists other titles such as:

- Mbiti’s Concept of Time: A Critical Analysis (2018), published on Scribd, examines John Mbiti’s views of African temporal frameworks.[9]
- Sacred Symbols in Igbo Traditional Religion: Shrine as a Case Study is cited in the Igboscholars International Journal of Igbo Scholars Forum (Vol. 14, No. 1, March 2021, p.180).[10]
- His article The History of African Traditional Medicine is referenced in health publications by Guimeds, covering the origin and transformation of traditional medicine from ancient Egypt to post-colonial Africa.[11][12]
He is a member of the Nigerian Philosophical Association and has contributed editorial work for academic journals including Unizik Journal of Arts and Humanities.
Personal life
[edit]In addition to his academic and literary work, Onuh is a full-stack developer and software engineer. He has developed web applications such as inventory and school management systems.[4]
