Javaan Durrell Anderson (born March 2, 1989), known professionally as Spades Saratoga, is an American songwriter, record producer, and label owner. A North Carolina–based artist with New York origins, he is known for songwriting contributions for artists including Cardi B, GloRilla, Offset, Sexyy Red, Ice Spice, Latto, and Don Toliver.[1] His work includes "Tomorrow 2" by GloRilla and Cardi B, which reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and later topped R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay,[2][3] and Cardi B’s "Outside," which debuted at number 10 on the Hot 100.[4]
Career
[edit]Anderson has been recognized for his contributions to hip hop and R&B songwriting by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), with credits appearing in multiple Rhythm & Soul and Pop Music award programs.[5][6][7]
In 2023, he was credited as a writer on "Tomorrow 2" by GloRilla featuring Cardi B, which peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and later reached number one on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.[5][8][9]
In 2024, Anderson received further recognition at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards in connection with "Tomorrow 2", where his publishing imprint Feels Like Summer Ent. is listed among credited entities.[6] On "Tomorrow 2," publishers credited include Feels Like Summer Ent., Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music.[6][10]
In 2025, he was credited on "Worth It" by Offset and is listed in ASCAP’s Rhythm & Soul Music Celebration materials.[7] His attendance at the 2025 ceremony was documented in editorial imagery identifying him as "Javaan 'Spades Saratoga' Anderson".[11][12] Third-party coverage of the event also lists him among credited writers.[13]
In September 2025, Anderson was credited under his full name, Javaan Durrell Anderson, as a songwriter on Cardi B’s second studio album Am I the Drama?. Press coverage listed him among the album’s writers, including reports by Complex and Yahoo Entertainment.[14][15] The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA on its first day of release, partly due to the inclusion of previously successful singles such as "WAP" and "Up".[16] Its single "Outside" debuted at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.[17]
Anderson’s credits also include "Whatchu Kno About Me" by GloRilla and Sexyy Red, where he is listed under Composition & Lyrics,[18] and Cardi B’s "Like What (Freestyle)," which likewise credits him for Composition & Lyrics.[19] He is also credited on "Redbull" by Red Café featuring Spades Saratoga, where the track lists both artists.[20]
According to Muso.ai, Anderson has 178 registered songwriting and production credits across various artists and projects.[21] His credits and discography are also documented by AllMusic under both his legal and professional names.[22][23] Additional database corroboration includes IPI/affiliation listings at SecondHandSongs.[24]
