Into the Yaoiverse is a international emotaku post-hardcore & electronicore band from San Diego, California. The group was founded by Melveky (unclean vocals, keyboards) & Chrisu-kun (vocals, rhythm guitar) during around the summer of 2022. The band currently consists of screaming vocalist/keyboardist Melveky, lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Chrisu-kun, lead guitarist nnickiez, drummer claewmark, and bassist mfourayeone. They play varied styles of music, with songs ranging from post-hardcore, pop-punk, experimental rock, progressive rock and emo.
Musical style and influences
[edit]Into the Yaoiverse's music style has generally been regarded as a mix of electronicore, post-hardcore, metalcore, experimental rock, progressive metal, pop-punk, electronic rock, hard rock, emo, dance-metal and screamo. The vocals of Melveky have been compared to Danny Worsnop, Dennis Lee & Minami.
Dark Rain: Axis Powers' influences are Pierce the Veil, Green Day, Twenty One Pilots, Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas, Sleeping with Sirens, The All-American Rejects, System of a Down, Slipknot, Korn, One Ok Rock, Radwimps, Ling Tosite Sigure, Dance Gavin Dance, Avenged Sevenfold, Fall Out Boy, Blink-182, Wallows, Weezer, My Chemical Romance, The Smashing Pumpkins, Deftones, Kiss, Slaughter to Prevail, Kana-Boon, Panic! at the Disco, All Time Low, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Babymetal, Three Days Grace, & Bring Me the Horizon.
Critics have labelled Into the Yaoiverse as post-hardcore, emo, electronicore, screamo, dance-metal, metalcore, kawaii metal, progressive rock and experimental rock.
The term "emotakucore" has also been applied to the band due to the aesthetic that follows closely to Animecore and post-hardcore, however they do have some major differences in many of their songs.
