History

[edit]

2021-2023: Founding and early growth

[edit]

inbanx was founded in February 2021 by serial entrepreneur Rob Kaczmarek, alongside co-founders Steve Burt and Aaron Upshaw. Prior to launching inbanx, Kaczmarek stated that the concept for inbanx originated from challenges he encountered in managing and controlling organizational spending during a previous venture that he successfully scaled[4].

In May 2023, inbanx closed its seed round, raising approximately $3.6 million to expand its platform for corporate expense control and credit-card issuing[5]. The round was led by Launchpad Capital and Social Leverage, with additional backing from Everywhere Ventures and Altari Ventures[6].

In October 2023, Ken Burgessformer CEO of FirstCapital Bank of Texas and current regional president at Prosperity Bankjoined inbanx's board of directors. He serves alongside Rob Kaczmarek and Brian Pearson, president and CEO of American Benefits Exchange, LLC[7]

2025-present: FinWise sponsorship

[edit]

In March 2025, inbanx transitioned from its initial sponsor bank to FinWise Bank in Sandy, Utah—a larger partner able to better greater credit needs.
