Comment: Wikis and Sportskeeda are unreliable sources. This draft suffers from over-wikilinking; links to pages like "agent", "effect" and "attack" are unnecessary, just to name a few. Rambley (talk) 23:05, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
Comment: As highlighted previously, inline citations are also preferred. Greenman (talk) 09:53, 21 June 2025 (UTC)

Hoshimi Miyabi is a playable Agent in Zenless Zone Zero. She holds the prestigious title of Void Hunter, becoming the youngest individual in New Eridu to earn this distinction. As the chief of Hollow Special Operations Section 6, she leads a specialized unit comprising herself, Soukaku, Asaba Harumasa, and Tsukishiro Yanagi.
Design and Appearance
[edit]Hoshimi Miyabi is classified as a Thiren, more specifically a fox-type variant. This classification is most visibly represented by her long, upward-slanting triangular ears, which resemble those of a fox in both shape and orientation. These ears are recognized as a hereditary trait within the Hoshimi family, serving as a consistent physical marker among its members. Her listed height is 170 cm (approximately 5 feet 7 inches) including her ears. No official measurement has been provided for her height excluding the fox ears. Miyabi’s design consists of a long black skirt paired with a formal, a teal and white shirt, and a tie. Miyabi's left arm is not organic, instead it's a robotic arm which she uses similarly to a regular arm. Miyabi also wears a black belt, featuring a hand design on the front. The overall attire reflects a professional and restrained aesthetic, consistent with her disciplined persona, her organizational role within the game’s setting, and her position as chief of Hollow Special Operations Section 6. [1]
Combat Prowess
[edit]Hoshimi Miyabi is an Anomaly-type Agent who utilizes the Frost attribute, a specialized subcategory of Ice that introduces distinct elemental effects. [2] Unlike standard Ice, which focuses on freezing and shattering, Frost enables the application of Frostburn—a lingering anomaly effect that increases elemental buildup and interacts with team-wide status effects. Her combat classification is Slash, emphasizing a style based on rapid, continuous blade strikes. Her attacks follow a structured rhythm that prioritizes consistent engagement and area coverage. [3] In addition to her standard attack pattern, Miyabi employs a stack-based system known as Fallen Frost, which enhances her offensive capabilities when maintained and managed effectively. When stack is full, it unleashes a powerful attack one the attack button is held down.[2]
While most Anomaly [[Agents scale primarily with Anomaly Proficiency and Mastery, Miyabi’s kit incorporates a hybrid scaling model. Her Frost buildup rate is influenced by Critical Rate, and her Frostburn damage scales with Attack, allowing her to function as a Critical-oriented anomaly dealer.[2]
Weapons and drive discs
[edit]With the release of Hoshimi Miyabi as a playable Agent in Zenless Zone Zero, additional gameplay content was introduced. This included a new Drive Disc set titled Branch & Black Song,[4] which is tailored to the mechanics of critical-based characters such as Hoshimi Miyabi herself. Players can obtain this disc set through the Routine Cleanup mode at the Scott Outpost or by purchasing it directly from the Bardic Needle in-game shop. [4]
Hoshimi Miyabi released with a new unique W-Engine weapon titled Hailstorm Shrine. The W-Engine, at max level, boosts Attack for its main statistic and Critical Rate for its advanced statistic.
Reception
[edit]Since her release, Hoshimi Miyabi has been positively received by players of Zenless Zone Zero, with particular praise directed toward her character design, combat style, and integration into the game’s lore. She has also garnered attention from fans of other MiHoYo titles, including Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact, contributing to cross-title recognition within the company’s broader fanbase.

[edit]In December 2024, a character demo for Hoshimi Miyabi was released on MiHoYo’s official YouTube channel for Zenless Zone Zero. The trailer showcased her combat animations and provided a brief narrative introduction, highlighting her role within the game's storyline.
Hoshimi Miyabi was officially released as a limited-time banner on December 18, 2024, in version 1.4 of Zenless Zone Zero.[5] Version 1.4 also introduced a new chapter of the story, A Storm of Falling Stars. This storyline featured Miyabi and served as the conclusion to Zenless Zone Zero’s Chapter 1 arc. [6]
Alongside Miyabi's banner release was her signature W-Engine and A-rank agents Soukaku and Piper each arriving with their signature W-engines. [6]
