Draft:Giorgio Isaila

Giorgio Isaila

Giorgio Isaila ( born 2nd April 2001) is a Romanian professional boxer based in London, United Kingdom. He began training in combat sports at the age of 19 and entered the amateur boxing scene two years later.[1]

He started in amateur boxing for one year, during which he recorded 18 wins in 20 bouts and won the ABA championship and a number of Box cups.[2] He debuted professionally on 25 November 2023 and has remained undefeated since.[3] As of June 2025, Giorgio holds a professional record of seven wins in seven fights, including four victories by stoppage.[4]

Early life

[edit]

Giorgio Isaila is originally from Malini, Suceava County, Romania. He developed an early interest in sports, particularly football. During his youth, he played for the local club Forestra Malini, where he took part in several regional competitions.

At the age of 17, Isaila relocated in London, United Kingdom, working in hospitality[5]. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the closure of much of the hospitality industry led to his unemployment. He tried boxing after watching a match online and despite not liking the sport at first, he developed a passion over time. He characterised boxing as a discipline that requires strategic decision-making under pressure, comparing it to a game of chess,[6] starting of his involvement in combat sports.[7]

Amateur Career

[edit]

After a year of training, he made his debut in the amateur boxing world.[7] He competed in 20 amateur boxing matches, finishing with a record of 18 wins and 2 losses.[5] Over the course of his amateur career, he won titles at the National Novices Championships, the ABA Championships and several boxing tournaments. He also reached the finals of an international competition held in Spain.[2] Following a year of competitive amateur boxing, he transitioned to professional level.[8]
