History

Generational Group was founded in 2005 by Dr. John Binkley and his son, Ryan Binkley, and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.[4] Ryan Binkley is also the current CEO of the firm.[5][6]

By mid-2016, the company had completed multiple transactions with a combined valuation of approximately US $2.7 billion.[7][8] In 2018, firm moved its headquarters from Dallas to Richardson, Texas.[9][10] Tom Watson was signed as the brand ambassador of the firm in 2024.[11] By May of 2025, the firm has successfully closed over 1700 transactions.[12][13]

Awards and recognition

Over the years, Generational Group has received multiple awards. In 2022, it was named North America’s Investment Banking Firm of the Year, in addition to being recognized for Private Equity Deal of the Year and M&A Deal of the Year.[14][15] In 2023, it was named North America’s Investment Banking Firm of the Year for the second time.[16] In 2024, the firm was again named Investment Banking Firm of the Year, and also recognized as USA Investment Bank of the Year.[17][18]
