American singer, songwriter and musician, Gene Francis Alan Pitney (1940 – 2006), known professionally as Gene Pitney, released 23 studio albums, two original live albums, various compilation and archival projects, and 80 singles. At the height of his popularity, 17 of Pitney's songs placed on the US Billboard Top 40 chart, and four peaked in the top five, In the UK, Pitney scored ten top-10 hits between 1963 and 1967.
