Gareth Sheridan (born c. 1990) is an Irish entrepreneur and the founder of Nutriband Inc., a pharmaceutical company that develops transdermal drug delivery systems.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Sheridan was born in Terenure, Dublin, Ireland.[1] He studied business and management at what is now Technological University Dublin, where he conceived the idea for Nutriband during his final year in 2012.[1]
Career
[edit]Sheridan founded Nutriband Ltd. in Dublin in 2012 while completing his studies.[1] The company initially focused on supplement delivery through transdermal patches. Recognizing the limitations of the Irish market, Sheridan established Nutriband Inc. in the United States with headquarters in Orlando, Florida.[1]
The company develops abuse-deterrent transdermal systems for opioid medications.[1] Nutriband's technology incorporates capsaicin and denatonium benzoate to deter misuse while maintaining effectiveness when used correctly.[1] The company went public on the NASDAQ stock exchange in October 2021 under the ticker symbol NTRB.[2]
He temporarily stepped aside from his role as CEO of Nutriband in 2025 while he began his bid for the Irish presidency, citing his need to focus on securing support from local authorities for nomination to appear on the ballot.[3]
Public commentary
[edit]In 2025, Sheridan emerged as a commentator on pharmaceutical policy and trade issues.[original research?] His analysis has featured in The Guardian and the BBC, where he examined the potential impact of proposed tariffs on global pharmaceutical supply chains.[4][5] Sheridan stated that tariffs on pharmaceutical imports could disrupt global supply chains and increase costs for patients. Speaking to the BBC, he stated that "these types of treatments can't afford a disruption in the global supply chain", drawing comparisons between pharmaceutical and automotive tariffs to illustrate the life-or-death nature of medication access.[5] His commentary was also featured in the Business Post in Ireland, where he stated that "ultimately, people will die" if pharmaceutical tariffs are implemented.[6]

[edit]Sheridan held a press conference announcing his intention to contest the Irish presidential election. He stood on a platform of housing and centered his age.
Recognition
[edit]In 2014, Sheridan received the Bank of Ireland Start-up Awards "Best Young Entrepreneur" award and was named Ireland's "Young Entrepreneur of the Year."[7]
In 2025, Sheridan was named as a finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards in the "Established" category.[8] He withdrew from the awards to focus on his presidential campaign.[3]
Sheridan serves as an Entrepreneurial Ambassador for TU Dublin, providing guidance to students interested in innovation and entrepreneurship.[9]
