The Fujifilm X-E5 is a digital rangefinder-style mirrorless camera by Fujifilm. The camera was announced on June 12, 2025 in Tokyo, Japan, as part of the company's X-series range of cameras. It is scheduled for release in August 2025 and serves as the successor to the Fujifilm X-E4, which was discontinued in 2022.[1]
The X-E5 features Fujifilm's latest 40.2-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor, a significant upgrade from the X-E4's 26.1-megapixel sensor. It is paired with the X-Processor 5, enabling enhanced AI-based subject detection capabilities including animals, birds, automobiles, motorcycles, airplanes, and trains.[2]
A notable design feature is that the X-E5 is the first X series camera to feature a precision-cut aluminum top plate, emphasizing its premium build quality. The camera features 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) offering up to 7.0 stops of compensation, a first for the X-E line. It also includes a new "Classic Display" EVF mode that provides a vintage viewing experience.[1]
The X-E5 includes a digital teleconverter function with 1.4x and 2.0x zoom options, extending the reach of prime lenses without additional equipment. Video capabilities include 6.2K recording at 30fps with 4:2:2 10-bit color depth, 4K at up to 60fps, and Full HD at up to 240fps. Weighing 445g with battery and memory card, Fujifilm describes it as providing "the joy of owning a camera and the fun of photography to a wide range of users."[1]
The camera will be available in silver and black color options. [1]
