EducaAndOS is an Ubuntu-based operating system developed by the Centro de Gestión Avanzado , a part of the Regional Government of Andalusia in Spain.[2]
It is mainly used in schools in Andalusia, and its purpose was to be used in educational environments.[2]
It was preceded by Guadalinex Edu, also created by the Centro de Gestión Avanzado[2], created the 23rd of February 2004, and discontinued in around 2018.
A more lightweight version of educaAndOS 20.04, called educaAndOS 20.04 Slim, was released in around the 23rd of December 2021[b], its key differences are that it runs LXDE instead of GNOME, and that it can run on hardware with limited capacity (down to 1GB of RAM)[3][4]
