Darflen is a social media website used for connecting and sharing with people worldwide.[1] It was created in August 2021 by William Theman (aka Paradock) and is currently administrated by Paradock, PkmnQ and cheesewhisk3rs. The website has 959 users as of May 2, 2025.[2] The platform’s mascot, Darf, is shown on the home page and other areas of the site.[1] Darflen also has a user-made encrypted language known as Darfish.[3] Despite the low user count, Darflen is still a popular replacement for other social media websites and many users on other websites have some knowledge of Darflen.[4][5] This is also because Darflen's userbase was mostly brought in from advertising on other social media websites, such as Twitter, wasteof.money or YouTube.[6][7][8] The community has also advertised Darflen on other social medias.[9]
History
[edit]Theman began on Darflen on August 7, 2021.[10] It was released officially on September 10, 2021.[11][12] In 2023, there was a database wipe, deleting all of Darflen. Theman completely rewrote the site back-end and reopened it on December 12th, 2023. There were 2 partial database wipes in 2024, one deleted all posts which were recovered later that year, and an image wipe, removing 1 month of image attachments on the site. However, some of these images have been reuploaded.
Wiki
[edit]Darflen has an official wiki,[13] founded on October 10, 2024.[14] It is currently located at darflen.fandom.com and is planned to move to darflen.miraheze.org/.[15] The Darflen Wiki documents various aspects of Darflen, such as the userbase, the website's features and tutorials for beginners.[16][17][18] As of May 2, 2025, it has 19 active contributors, 10,105 edits and 95 articles.[14]
