The Crye Six12 (sometimes stylized as SIX12) is a semi-automatic revolving cylinder bullpup shotgun, designed by Crye Precision. As of September 2025[update], it is not commercially available.
History
[edit]The Six12 was first announced by Crye Precision at SHOT Show in 2014. It was initially designed to be mounted under the barrel of an AR-15 to aid in breaching. Crye Precision also announced standalone variants with barrel lengths of 12.5, 18, and 22 inches. It was expected to release for law enforcement sales in the fourth quarter of 2014, with civilian sales beginning thereafter.[1]
In 2016, further development and production of the Six12 was shifted to Vantage LLC; a company formed by Crye Precision co-owners Caleb Crye and Gregg Thompson. Vantage made a $5 million investment moving into a facility in Nashville, Tennessee, and planned to hire up to 300 people.[2][3]
The Six12 was presented by Vantage Arms at SHOT Show in 2017. Vantage Arms stated that the MSRP would be $1800, and aimed to begin accepting orders by Q3 with shipment occurring by Q4 of 2017.[4]
In addition to a civilian version featuring wooden furniture, standalone breaching and integrally suppressed variants were shown to the public.[3] The integrally suppressed variant was the product of collaboration with SilencerCo, utilizing the Salvo 12 suppressor.[5]
Design
[edit]The Six12 features a removable cylinder to facilitate faster reloads. Like all revolvers, the Six12 has a gap between the end of the cylinder and start of the barrel. To ensure that gasses and debris are not ejected from that gap, it includes a mechanism that engages a collar between the cylinder and barrel before firing.[3]
The Six12 uses a double-action trigger mechanism with a striker.
