Comingsoon.it is an Italian online news outlet published by Anicaflash and dedicated to cinema, TV movies, television series, and digital streaming platforms.
History
[edit]Comingsoon.it was founded in 1999 by Anicaflash, a company that since 1977 has produced and distributed cinema trailer segments for television.[1] Since then, the website has undergone several updates and improvements, the most significant being the major redesign of June 2019[2], which made it one of the most visited Italian websites dedicated to cinema.[3] [4] [5]. In 2008, it launched Coming Soon Cinema, a smartphone and tablet app available for iOS[6] and Android devices.[7]
Content
[edit]The content is curated by an editorial team capable of covering the entire world of entertainment, cinema, TV movies, television, TV series, and streaming, organized into different sections.
- CINEMA
The most important and content-rich section. Every day, all the latest news from the world of cinema passes through us first! Comingsoon.it is always on the front line at major film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Venice, and Rome, offering readers exclusive news and reports. It hosts one of the most extensive and comprehensive film databases on the web. Each film page includes a synopsis, cast, photos, videos, and user comments. The Trovacinema tool is one of the website’s most distinctive features, providing showtimes for all Italian cinemas, a system designed to ensure the fastest and most intuitive browsing experience possible. Comingsoon.it also provides a calendar allowing users to view current, past, and upcoming theatrical releases.[8]
- FILM ON TV
Comingsoon.it also offers a comprehensive guide with schedules for movies airing on digital terrestrial channels and Sky. Users can browse programming for the entire week to make sure they never miss a film they want to watch. Every day, the site highlights the best films airing in prime time, complete with dedicated features and recommendations.[8]
- TELEVISION
Through its editorial team, the site provides daily coverage of the most popular TV programs, from previews of major soap operas to the most-watched shows. It also offers a complete schedule of all TV programs broadcast on digital terrestrial and Sky channels.[8]
- TV SERIES
Comingsoon.it is no longer just synonymous with cinema. For several years, it has hosted an entire section dedicated to TV series, featuring previews of upcoming seasons, U.S. ratings charts, major news, and new shows. Users can access the database to find details on the latest seasons and episodes of their favorite series, as well as a full programming schedule with air times for each show.[8]
Editorial staff
[edit]The editorial team of Comingsoon.it is composed of professional journalists registered with the Italian Order of Journalists, with extensive experience in cinema and entertainment.[9] The editors regularly attend press screenings of upcoming films and participate in major Italian and international festivals and events dedicated to cinema and television series, including the Venice International Film Festival [10], the Rome Film Festival [11], the Cannes Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival, producing reviews and in-depth features, and providing journalistic coverage and multimedia content.[9] The site also relies on collaborators and correspondents based in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Paris, who cover major news and events from the world of cinema and entertainment. Alongside the editorial team, Comingsoon.it has a technical and organizational staff that includes marketing, commercial, and technological departments dedicated to the management and development of the portal’s content.[12]
