Cinnamon is produced in Sri Lanka. Cinnamomum verum, also known as Ceylon cinnamon, is native to Sri Lanka and is considered to be a "true cinnamon".[1] Sri Lanka produces 90% of the world's "true cinnamon", but the majority of cinnamon is derived from four other species referred to as "cassia".
