Brian Atkinson (born 1946) is a Jamaican bassist best known for his work at Studio One in the 1960s, where he helped shape the sound of ska, rocksteady, and early reggae. He was part of the studio’s house bands, including the Soul Brothers, Soul Vendors, and Sound Dimension. Atkinson played on early recordings by Bob Marley & The Wailers, including One Love, Bend Down Low, and Jailhouse (Alt. Rudie), as well as hits by Alton Ellis, Ken Boothe, and The Heptones.

He also recorded with Desmond Dekker & The Aces on 007 (Shanty Town) and Israelites, and with American singer Johnny Nash on Hold Me Tight, Cupid, and I Can See Clearly Now.

After migrating to Canada in the 1970s, Atkinson continued performing with Jamaican musicians such as Jackie Mittoo, Joe Isaacs, and Lynn Taitt.
