| Submission declined on 12 May 2025 by Cactusisme (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Brian Atkinson
[edit]Brian Atkinson (born 1946) is a Jamaican bassist best known for his work at Studio One in the 1960s, where he helped shape the sound of ska, rocksteady, and early reggae. He also recorded with Desmond Dekker & The Aces on 007 (Shanty Town) and Israelites, and with American singer Johnny Nash on Hold Me Tight, Cupid, and I Can See Clearly Now.
After migrating to Canada in the 1970s, Atkinson continued performing with Jamaican musicians such as Jackie Mittoo, Joe Isaacs, and Lynn Taitt.
