Borys Ivanovych Danylevsky (Ukrainian: Данилевський Борис Іванович, April 22, 1900 – July 29, 1938) was a Ukrainian bandurist, conductor, and teacher.[1]

Biography

Danylevsky completed his studies at the Lysenko Music and Drama School as a conductor of wind orchestras in 1933. He performed with the Kyiv Bandurist Capella and became artistic director of the ensemble, also in 1933. He was arrested in 1934 and again on April 22, 1938 for counter-revolutionary agitation and participation in a counter-revolutionary organization.[1] He was sentenced by a special NKVD troika (three-person tribunal) to execution by shooting under Articles 54-2, 54-11 [uk] of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR and was shot to death on July 29, 1938. His family was told he had died in 1943.
