Bobby McKey’s Dueling Piano Bar is a live music venue located at National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States. Opened in 2008, it is the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area’s only dedicated dueling piano bar.[1][2] The venue features interactive performances where pianists play audience song requests spanning multiple genres, often incorporating comedy and crowd participation.[3]

History

[edit]

Bobby McKey’s opened in 2008 as part of the newly developed National Harbor waterfront complex in Prince George’s County, Maryland.[1] The concept was inspired by dueling piano bars popular in entertainment districts across the United States.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Bobby McKey’s adapted by offering livestream performances, which later attracted audiences who traveled to the venue after connecting online.[4]

Reception

[edit]

The Washington Post described the bar as “an energetic mix of music and comedy with an emphasis on audience participation.”[3] Another review highlighted the “varied crowd and nonstop energy,” noting its distinction as the only dueling piano bar in the Washington metropolitan area.[2]

Bobby McKey’s has been recommended in regional travel and lifestyle publications as a nightlife destination at National Harbor.[5][6]
