Draft:BFF 1

The Bushwick Film Festival (BFF) is an independent film festival based in Brooklyn, New York City. It is typically held in October each year.[1][2][3]

Profile

[edit]

The Bushwick Film Festival was founded in 2007 by Kweighbaye Kotee to celebrate independent film in her community. It grew rapidly and became one of New York's leading film events, attracting up to 5,000 attendees annually.[4]

To extend its influence, Kotee founded the Bushwick Film Institute (BFI), a nonprofit organization that offers year-round programs.[5] In partnership with companies such as Canon and B&H Photo, the BFI developed programs such as “Bushwick Stories!”.

The festival is a nonprofit organization. Sponsors include Delta Airlines, Johnny Walker and Mastercard.
