Awang Faisal Assyiffa bin Ag Rahim (born 10 February 1985) is a Malaysian educator and executive, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu. He brings nearly two decades of leadership experience across the federal and state governments, the corporate sector including public-listed companies and the higher education industry.
In recognition of his contributions, Awang Faisal was conferred the Ahli Darjah Kinabalu (A.D.K.) in 2022 and the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (S.K.) in 2017 by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah, T.Y.T. Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Juhar bin Mahiruddin.
Politically, he is a member of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS), a component party of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition. Since the establishment of PGRS, he has served as the Vice Chief of the PGRS Likas Division and as a member of the PGRS Youth Supreme Council (Exco).
Early life and education
Awang Faisal was born on 10 February 1985 and is the eldest of four siblings. His mother, Yuyu binti Suyuthi, is a homemaker, while his father, Awang Rahim bin Awang Ali, served as the General Manager of Yayasan Sabah.
He began his early education at Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan (SRK) Stella Maris, followed by secondary education at Sabah College. He later pursued higher education at Multimedia University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Economics (Hons.) in International Economics, and subsequently completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same institution.
Awang Faisal also holds a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from Open University Malaysia. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at Asia e University, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Rosli Hassan.
