Aurangzeb Ahmed,SI(M) TI(M) is a two star marshal in the Pakistan Air Force who is the current Director General Public Relations of the Pakistan Air Force. He also serves as Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Operations).[1]
He became a recognizable figure in defense communications, representing the air force in media briefings and strategic updates during Pakistan-India tension 2025.[2][3]
Early life and education
[edit]Aurangzeb Ahmed was commissioned into the General Duties (Pilot) Branch of the PAF in December 1992.[4] He holds a master’s degree in Military Arts from a university in China and another in National Security and War Studies from the National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad.[5]
Career
[edit]Ahmed has commanded a fighter squadron and an operational air base. He also served as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Operational Requirements & Development) at Air Headquarters.[4] He was appointed as the Contingent Commander of the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex mission in Saudi Arabia, showcasing his expertise in international defense cooperation.[4] In addition, he has contributed to military education as a faculty member and directing staff at the National Defence University Islamabad.[4]
In 2022, Ahmed appointed as Spokesperson for the Pakistan Air Force.[6]
Awards and decorations
[edit]Aurangzeb Ahmed has been awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) in recognition of his meritorious service and dedication to the Pakistan Air Force.[6]
