The Arthunkal Beach Fest[1] is an annual two-day cultural event held on December 30 and 31 at Arthunkal Beach in the Alappuzha district of Kerala, India. The festival, first held in 2019, is organized by the Nammude Arthunkal Charitable Society (NACS), a local non-profit organization. The event coincides with New Year's celebrations and attracts both tourists and local residents.

History

2019

The inaugural Arthunkal Beach Fest was held in 2019. Reports estimated that approximately 50,000 people attended the event over its two-day duration.

2020–2021

The event was not held during this period, reportedly due to public health restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.[2]

2022

The second edition of the festival took place in 2022. The event's highlights included a performance by the 'Enthinay Band' and a fireworks show. Attendance was estimated at approximately 80,000.

2023

The third edition saw further growth, with organizers estimating participation at over 100,000 people. Performers included the "Chumadu Thangi" music band and DJ Ignatius.

2024

The fourth edition of the fest featured performances from singer Anwar Sadath and DJ DK. A 4x4 off-road jeep race was introduced as a new event. A swimming and survival learning session for kids was organized as part of the fest[3][4]. The 2024 edition reported its largest attendance to date, with organizers claiming over 250,000 participants.

2025

The fifth edition has been announced for December 2025[5]. Scheduled performers include 'Thewar Band', a 45-artist ensemble.
