Anjum Lucknowi (born Mahammad Iqbal Khan; 7 March 1973) is an Indian poet writing in Urdu and Hindi.[1][2][3][4]
Early Life and Education
[edit]Anjum Lucknowi was born as Iqbal Haleem Khan in Fatehpur Tehsil, Banki, Uttar Pradesh, to Hale Haleem Khan. He received his early education from Madrasa Alia Furqaniya, which included Urdu and Arabic.[5]
In 1987, Anjum moved from Barabanki to Mumbai with his father. In the same year, he began studying poetry under Aish Kanwal in Kurla, Mumbai. He trained in poetry for about nineteen years under Kanwal’s guidance.
Performance
[edit]Lucknowi performed her first poetry recital in 1987 under the supervision of her teacher Poet Aish Kanwal in Quraish Nagar, Kurla. After that, He participated in many poetry recitals, including several All India Mushaira's and Kavi Sammelan's.[6][7][8] he got married in Mumbai in 1994 and has 4 children with her.[1][5]
In the year 2014, Anjum Lucknowi wrote the book 'Azmat e Maa'. It was published in 2014 by the Mumbai-based Bazm-E-Urdu Adab Kavi Sanstha.[4][9] The second book "Shikwa Jawab e Shikwa" was published in 2017 by Mustakim Inter College in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh.[3][10] The Shikwa Jawab e Shikwa is that when the Shikhwa was being published, an All India Mushaira was also held in the meantime.[7][11]

Recognition and Awards
[edit]- Dr. Allama Iqbal Award (2017) – Awarded to Anjum Lucknowi for his contributions to Urdu literature, presented during the All India Mushaira at Mustaqim Inter College, Sultanpur.[7][16]
- Testimonial Award (2016) – Awarded by MLA Sunil Tatkare in recognition of his participation in the "Jashn-e-Mushaira" organized at Roha Ashtami Municipal Council. – Certificate
