Andrew Heaton is an American comedian, author, and political satirist, best known for his work with Reason TV and as the host of The Political Orphanage podcast.[1]
Education
[edit]Heaton attended Deer Creek High School and later earned a bachelor's degree in History and World Religion from the University of Oklahoma.[2]
Career
[edit]Heaton worked as a congressional staffer before transitioning into comedy.[1]
He is a long-time contributor to Reason TV, producing political satire and comedic commentary.[1]
He hosted the web series Mostly Weekly, covering news and politics with humor.[3]
He created and hosted EconPop, a series explaining economic ideas through popular culture.[3]
He has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, toured Europe, and performed stand-up across the United States.[3] He was a finalist in the China International Stand-up Comedy Competition and trained in improv with the Upright Citizens Brigade.[2] He is half of the comedy duo Lost History.[1]

[edit]Heaton hosted Something’s Off with Andrew Heaton, a podcast on The Blaze.[4] He has also appeared on other Blaze programs, including The Glenn Beck Program.[5]

[edit]Heaton hosts The Political Orphanage, a political-comedy podcast geared toward listeners who call themselves “political orphans.”[6] He also hosts Alienating the Audience, a science-fiction commentary podcast.[3]
He is the author of Laughter Is Better Than Communism, and the comedic novels Frank Got Abducted and Happier as Werewolves.[1] He also published Tribalism Is Dumb, exploring political identity and social division.[1]

Personal Life
[edit]Heaton has said he once lived in a toolshed while working as a TV extra.[2] He previously organized “Weekends of Awesomeness” trips in Oklahoma, including prison rodeos and spelunking.[2] Heaton has also discussed his Oklahoma upbringing in a Babylon Bee podcast episode.[8]
