Amy Zidian, is a retired professional wrestler and model. Best known for her brief time in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) under her real name, where she participated in the WWE 2006 Diva Search and was a valet on the Smackdown! brand.[1][2]
Modeling career
[edit]Zidian was a pageant model, she competed and won multiple titles in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic pageant, she was also Miss Hooters Alabama.[1] She also worked as a swimsuit model.[3]
Professional wrestling career
[edit]World Wrestling Entertainment (2006)
In 2006 Zidian was a contestant in the WWE Diva Search where she ultimately placed 8th overall.[1][4] Despite being the first contestant eliminated from the competition she was quickly signed to a developmental contract and began training at Ohio Valley Wrestling.[2] In October of 2006 Zidian began appearing at ECW house shows competing in bikini contests against Kelly Kelly, Rebecca DiPietro and Trinity.[5][6] She made her official main roster debut on the November 3 2006 episode of Smackdown! as the valet and on-screen girlfriend of Jimmy Wang Yang.[7] Zidian made several appearances on the brand accompanying Yang to the ring, before she was released from her contract a month later. Rumors surrounding her release included backstage heat with multiple talents,[8][9][10][11][12] to post syndrome concussions due to Zidian being involved in two separate car accidents while being under contract with the company.
Independent circuit (2006-2007)
In July 2007 Zidian debuted for Women's Extreme Wrestling, under the ring name Amy Z.[13] She first appeared at the WEW: Nude Street Fight pay-per-view for her in ring debut, where she teamed with Annie Social in a losing effort to Principal Lazarus & Roni Jonah in a tag team match for the WEW Women's World Tag Team Championship. Zidian later defeated Principal Lazarus in her debut singles match at the following WEW pay-per-view WEW: Nude Sex War.[14] Zidian appeared in several photoshoots and videos for the WEW website and began making sporadic appearances at various independent shows throughout the year before silently retiring from wrestling.
In 2015 Zidian uploaded a video to her now deleted YouTube account, auditioning for WWE Tough Enough season 6. In the audition tape she spoke about her brief stint in the WWE and her time in the WWE Diva Search.[15]
