American-Israelis are Americans who have immigrated to live in Israel or in settlements in the West Bank, which is part of the State of Palestine.[3][a] These immigrants typically gain Israeli citizenship, and are overwhelmingly, if not entirely Jewish, either by heritage, by religious practice, or both.
Context
[edit]Since its earliest years, the state of Israel has maintained a very open policy of welcoming anyone with some Jewish heritage to settle in Israel. The attendant process to gain citizenship is very accepting of these immigrants.
