Asif Ahmad is an Indian politician from Bihar who serves as the Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Bisfi constituency in Madhubani district. He was elected in the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election as a candidate of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

Early life and education

According to his election affidavit, Ahmad is 34 years old as of 2025 and holds a doctoral degree.[1]

He has been associated with the Milli Trust, which works in education, community development and healthcare in Madhubani.[2]

Political career

Ahmad contested the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election from the Bisfi constituency as an RJD candidate. He defeated the incumbent BJP MLA Haribhushan Thakur by a margin of 8,107 votes in his first electoral victory.[3]

The Election Commission of India officially declared his victory and vote margin.[4]

His victory was significant for the RJD, as Bisfi was earlier represented by the BJP.[5]

Social work and initiatives

Through the Milli Trust, Ahmad has supported various initiatives in:

  • education,
  • healthcare,
  • rural development, and
  • community welfare.[2]

After his victory, he stated that he would prioritize roads, healthcare, education, and employment generation in Bisfi.[3]

According to his 2025 election affidavit, he declared assets worth approximately ₹12.2 crore and liabilities of about ₹72.2 lakh.[1]

He also disclosed one pending criminal case in his affidavit.[1]

Bisfi is an assembly constituency in Madhubani district and falls under the Madhubani Lok Sabha constituency.[6]
