AG5 is a Dutch software company headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The company develops plug-and-play skills management software aimed at helping organisations track, manage, and visualise workforce competencies in real time. AG5 positions its services as a replacement for traditional Excel-based matrices in manufacturing, logistics, and safety-critical industries.

History

[edit]

AG5 was founded in 2019 by brothers Rick and Mathieu van Echtelt, along with Wouter Gazendam.[1] The founders identified a gap in how companies manage workforce competencies and compliance, particularly in shift-based or regulated environments.

The platform was designed to reduce reliance on spreadsheets for tracking employee certifications and improve visibility across operational teams.[2]

In March 2023, AG5 raised €6 million in a seed funding round led by Headline, Peak, and Acadian Ventures to scale its product and expand into additional international markets.[3]

Products and Services

[edit]

AG5 provides a cloud-based skills management platform used to build dynamic skill matrices, track training needs, and manage compliance data.[2] Features include:

  • Integration with HR and learning management systems (LMS)
  • Real-time dashboards for team and role-based skills coverage
  • Automatic notifications for expiring certifications
  • Skills gap analysis and audit-readiness tools

The software is used by companies in industries such as manufacturing, aviation, logistics, and healthcare.[3]

Funding
