The 2025 year of Major League Pickleball was the second year the league had a full regular season followed by a playoff championship.[1] The league again consisted of two divisions, Premier Level and Challenger Level.
The Premier Level consisted of 16 teams. The winner of the regular season title was the St. Louis Shock.[2] In the playoffs, the fifth-seeded Columbus Sliders pulled off a "Cinderella run" to upset the second-seed Dallas Flash, first-seed St. Louis Shock, and third-seed New Jersey 5s to win the championship.[3]
The Challenger Level consisted of 6 teams. The Las Vegas Night Owls won the regular season title and the playoffs to earn promotion to the Premier Level for 2026.[4]
Match format
[edit]A match consists of four games, starting with women's doubles, then men's double, then two games of mixed doubles. In 2025, the scoring switched to traditional side-out scoring, where the winner is the first to 11 points (with a winning margin of at least two points) where a point can only be scored on serve. Should the match be tied at 2-2 after the four games, then a DreamBreaker is held to determine the winning team. A DreamBreaker consists of individual matchups rather than mixed, with players switching out every four points. It follows rally scoring and is played to 21 points (with a winning margin of at least two points), but the DreamBreaker can only be won on serve.[5] The winner of a match that ends in regulation without a DreamBreaker receives 3 points, while the loser receives 0 points. The winner of a match with a DreamBreaker receives 2 points, while the loser receives 1 point.
In each match, one team is designated as the home team. The home team chooses second which mixed doubles team to send out first against the mixed doubles team that the away team chose. If the match proceeds to a DreamBreaker, the home team also choose second the order of their 4 players after seeing what order the away team chose.

Playoff Results
[edit]The top 10 teams qualified for the playoffs, seeded 1-10 based on regular season standings. Seeds 7-10 played single elimination matches, with the 7th seed getting to pick between the 9th and 10th seeds. The Texas Ranchers (7) chose the Miami Pickleball Club (10).
In the quarter-finals, which consisted of best-of-three match series, the 1st seed could pick first among the 4 lowest remaining seeds, then the 2nd seed could pick next, and so on. The St. Louis Shock (1) picked the Orlando Squeeze (8). The Dallas Flash (2) surprised many by picking the Columbus Sliders (5) rather than the lowest-ranked Texas Ranchers (7). The New Jersey 5s (3) picked the Texas Ranchers (7).[8]
In the semi-finals, the top remaining seed could pick from the lowest 2 remaining seeds. The St. Louis Shock (1) picked the Columbus Sliders (5) over the Los Angeles Mad Drops (6).[9]

* In the mid-season tournament, the individual matches did not count towards the regular standings. Instead, a double-elimination bracket was held, with teams seeded based on their average points per match thus far. Two college teams also participated to fill out the bracket. The winner earned 6 points, second place 4 points, and 3rd place 2 points.[6][7]
